MEHLVILLE, MO (ST. LOUIS COUNTY) – A woman from Arnold was taken to the hospital after a car accident on Interstate 55 Monday afternoon, according to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened in the southbound lanes of the interstate near Butler Hill Road at 4:12 p.m. when 31-year-old Amanda J. Garn lost control of a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. The vehicle then ran off the left side of the roadway and collided with a concrete barrier, before Garn overcorrected the vehicle, and it went off the opposite side of the interstate. The Dodge then collided with a cable barrier before it came to a rest.
Garn was taken to the hospital in St. Clare with minor injuries.
No other injuries were reported in the collision.
She was reportedly wearing a seatbelt when the accident occurred.
