DARDENNE PRAIRIE, MO (ST. CHARLES COUNTY) – A woman was killed, and two people were injured, one of them seriously, in a wrong-way crash on Highway 364 last night, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred in Dardenne Prairie on eastbound Highway 364, near Bryan Road, at 7:30 p.m., as the driver of a 2017 Kia Sportage, 55-year-old Wentzville woman Brenda E. Mahoney, was headed westbound, against the flow of oncoming traffic.

Her vehicle collided head-on with a 2018 Ford Expedition, driven by 70-year-old Maryland Heights man Michael D. Russell, and then crashed into a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. The Kia went off the right side of the road, then overturned. The Expedition crashed into a median after being hit.

Mahoney was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:36 p.m.

Russell was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis with severe injuries.

The driver of the Volkswagen, 18-year-old O’Fallon resident Michael K. Krumwiede, was taken to the hospital in Lake St. Louis with minor injuries.

Each driver was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash.
