Man injured in dump truck accident in Beaufort

FRANKLIN, MO – A dump truck traveled off the road and overturned when its driver overcorrected while attempting to avoid oncoming traffic early Friday on Missouri 185 north of US 50, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol

Michael Shannon, 56, drove a 2006 International 7600 dump truck off the right side of the road to avoid an oncoming vehicle. Shannon then attempted to adjust his course, overcorrecting and causing him to travel off the left side of the road and overturn. 

Shannon’s vehicle was extensively damaged. 

Shannon was transported to Mercy Hospital.
