ST. LOUIS, MO — A 21-year-old De Soto man was injured Thursday morning in a rear-end collision involving three vehicles on Interstate 55 northbound in southwest St. Louis, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened in the northbound lanes of I-55 north of Butler Hill Road in an incident that caused the entire road to shut down. It was reported by Trooper J. S. Huskey at 7:37 a.m.
A 2015 Kia Soul and a 2016 Ford Escape were stopped in traffic when an approaching 2008 Ford F-350 failed to stop in time and rear-ended the Ford Escape, which struck the back of the Kia Soul.
The young man, who was the driver of the Kia Soul, was transported to Mercy Hospital South with minor injuries. The crash report indicates he was not wearing a seat belt.
No other injuries were reported.
The Kia Soul and the Ford Escape sustained minor damages, and the Ford F-350 was moderately damaged.
