Update: More details on deadly I-70 crash

ST. LOUIS, MO – A tow truck driver was fatally struck while trying to tow a vehicle on eastbound I-70 near Adelaide Ave on Friday, KMOV reports.

Anthony McCoy, 33, attempted to tow a vehicle in the third eastbound lane when a Honda Accord struck him. The accord was then launched into the air after going up the flatbed ramp.

The vehicle would roll over and slide hundreds of feet before finally coming to a rest.

First responders arrived on the scene around 11:30 a.m. and hospitalized McCoy. He would die there from his injuries. The driver of the Accord was uninjured.

It is unclear if the driver of the Accord was charged in connection to the incident.
