Update: Child dies from injury that occurred Friday night in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO – A child died from injuries sustained in a crash that occurred on eastbound I-64 on Friday night.

This is an update to an earlier post.

While our original post reported it was a male 30-year-old driver we learned from KMOV it was a 30-year-old female driver. She was driving a Pontiac G6 when an unidentified vehicle merged into her lane pushing the Pontiac into a guardrail.

Local authorities assisted in removing the driver and three children, ages 4, 7, and 9, from the vehicle. All four people were transported to a local hospital. The three children were all listed as in critical condition. One of the children, the 9-year-old boy, passed away Tuesday.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
