Union man killed in early morning Franklin County crash

FRANKLIN COUNTY, MO – One man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Franklin County early Thursday morning.

According to the official crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened along Route V near St. Johns Road at about 5:15 a.m.

Troopers believe Cody Emory, 29, of Union was traveling at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a turn on Route V and careened off the roadway. Emory traveled back across to the other side of the road before his vehicle overturned and crashed into a tree.

Emory was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

No one else was injured as a result of the crash.
