Two women injured in I-55 rear-end crash

ST. LOUIS, MO – Two women were injured in a rear-end collision Friday evening in St. Louis, according to a crash report published by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened around 5:35 p.m. on Interstate 55, near Reavis Barracks Road.

A 2016 Honda CRV driven by Azra Basic, 56, of St. Louis, was traveling northbound on I-55 when the vehicle slowed down to avoid hitting debris in the road. The Honda was then hit in the rear by a 2009 Audi A4 driven by St. Louis resident Christina L. Schneider, 38.

Schneider was sent to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Basic is not listed as being hurt in the accident.

The other victim is Atifa Vlahovljak, 59, of St. Louis. She was also taken to the hospital for treatment of non-serious injuries.

All three women were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The Honda received moderate damage, and the Audi was damaged extensively in the crash.
