Two people sustain moderate injuries in three-vehicle crash

IMPERIAL, MO – Two people sustained moderate injuries in a three-vehicle crash on southbound I-55 north of Imperial Main on Monday morning.

A 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 44-year-old Jackie Johnson, attempted to pass a 2012 Nissan Juke, driven by 30-year-old Jessica Gossett around 5:45 a.m., police report. When merging into the lane with the Nissan, the left rear of the Chevrolet hit the front right of the Nissan. Both vehicles struck a median wall. A 2016 Kia Soul, driven by 27-year-old Alexis Boehm, struck the Nissan.

All three vehicles were totaled in the crash.

Both Johnson and Gossett were transported to Mercy Hospital South for moderate injuries.
