Two people sustain injuries in southbound I-270 accident

ST. LOUIS, MO – Two people were injured in an accident on southbound I-270 south of I-44 early Sunday morning.

Alex Matukin, 20, was traveling south on I-270 when he lost control of his 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLA, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol. The Mercedes traveled off the right side of the interstate and hit a guardrail around 12:40 a.m.

Matukin, of St. Louis, and a passenger in the Mercedes, 21-year-old Lejla Sinanovic, were treated for injuries at Mercy Hospital South. Sinanovic, of St. Louis, sustained moderate injuries and Matukin sustained minor injuries. Both Matukin and Sinanovic were wearing seat belts.

The Mercedes was totaled.
