MERAMEC, MO (JEFFERSON COUNTY) – Two people were hurt, one of them seriously, after an ATV went over a cliff in Jefferson County last night, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened off-road, near Route F and Route O at 9:08 p.m. when a Polaris RZR Inmold ATV, driven by 56-year-old Randy W. Leclaire, from Pacific, went over a rock cliff and fell about 40 feet.
Leclaire was ejected during the collision and was airlifted to the hospital in St. Louis with severe injuries.
A passenger, 43-year-old Camilla D. Winkleman, also of Pacific, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Neither of the victims was wearing a seatbelt when the ATV crashed.
No other vehicles were involved in the off-road collision.
