Two people injured in wrong-way driver accident on I-255

ST. LOUIS, MO – Two people were injured in a wrong-way driver accident on westbound I-255 west of the Telegraph Road exit (2) on Wednesday night.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Bernadette R. Stapleton, 68, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-255 in a 2017 GMC Arcadia. Her GMC struck a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 29-year-old Amanda M. Frazier, head-on around 9:40 p.m.

Frazier, of St. Peters, was transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for serious injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt.

Stapleton, of St. Louis, was transported to Mercy Hospital South for minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.

Both vehicles were totaled.
