Two people injured in head-on collision on northbound Missouri 47

UNION, MO – Two people were injured in a head-on collision on northbound Missouri 47 on Tuesday evening.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Dalton E. Campbell was traveling south on Missouri 47 in a 2003 Chevrolet S10 when he became inattentive and traveled into the northbound lanes. The Chevrolet crashed head-on into a 2001 Ford Excursion, driven by 19-year-old Brandon W. Jones. MSHP reports the impact caused the Chevrolet to travel off the left side of the road. The Ford also traveled off the left side of the road but hit several trees.

Campbell and a 17-year-old female passenger in the Ford were transported to Mercy Hospital Washington for moderate injuries.

Jones and the 17-year-old injured passenger were wearing seat belts. Campbell was not wearing a seat belt.

Both vehicles were totaled.
