ST. FRANCOIS, MO – Two people were airlifted to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 47 on Thursday afternoon.
Police report Courtnee L. Givens, 21, was speeding on eastbound Highway 47 and failed to yield to an emergency vehicle. Her 2013 Hyundai Elantra traveled off the north side of the road and hit several trees. The crash occurred around 12:05 p.m.
Givens, of Pevely, and a passenger in the vehicle, 23-year-old Trenton M. Allen, were airlifted to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for serious injuries.
Allen was wearing a seat belt, but Givens was not wearing a seat belt.
The Hyundai was totaled.
