Two men hurt in single-vehicle accident in Jefferson County

BIG RIVER TOWNSHIP, MO (JEFFERSON COUNTY) – Two men were injured in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Jefferson County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on Jones Creek Road near Oermann Road at 10:20 a.m. as a 2003 Ford F150 was headed westbound.

The driver, 49-year-old Jay M. Houston, of St. Ann, was unable to round a turn and the pickup truck ran off the side of the road. Houston then overcorrected the F150, sending it into the left lane of traffic. The F150 then swerved again, running off the right side of the road once more before colliding with a tree.

Houston and a passenger, 49-year-old Jason J. Marciniak, of Dittmer, were both taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. Neither of the men was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

The F150 was extensively damaged in the crash.
