Two men charged in Jefferson County hit-and-run

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO – In an update to an earlier story, two men from St. Louis have been arrested and booked on hit-and-run charges from a May 20th incident that left a man in critical condition.

26-year-old Branden VanDoren stole a Saturn Aura from the parking lot of a Moto Mart Gas station. Upon fleeing the scene, VanDoren hit the owner of the Aura, Joseph Bates, as he was chasing after the stolen car.

According to KMOV, 28-year-old Matthew Carver was driving a stolen Dodge Dart when he and 26-year-old Brandon VanDoren arrived at the Moto Mart gas station in Cedar Hill on May 20.

Van Doren is being charged along with his accomplice in the crime, Matthew Carver, 28.
