Two injured after car crashes into tree in Franklin County

STANTON, MO (FRANKLIN COUNTY) – Two people were injured in an accident this morning in Franklin County when a vehicle crashed into a tree.

According to a crash report published by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just before 9:30 a.m. on the service road near the 228 milepost of Interstate 44. A 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 30-year-old Marthana Bhavinkumar, of Sullivan, drove off the side of the road and struck a tree.

Bhavinkumar was seriously injured in the collision. He was sent to the hospital along with a passenger, 33-year-old Alma D. Arvizu, also of Sullivan, who suffered moderate injuries.

It is unknown at this time if the victims were wearing a seatbelt.
