Towed vehicle rear-ended on I-270

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO – Two people were injured after a vehicle assisting officers was rear-ended on the side of Interstate 270 Sunday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Haleigh Stevenson, 23, pulled over her 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 to assist law enforcement with another driver. While on the side of the road, a 2009 Pontiac G6 hit the back of the Chevrolet’s towed unit. The incident occurred near James S. McDonnell Boulevard.

Stevenson and the driver of the Pontiac were injured in this accident. The driver of the Pontiac was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis to treat serious injuries. Officials took Stevenson to SSM Health DePaul Hospital for moderate injuries.
