Toddler injured in three-vehicle crash on Missouri 84

HAYTI, MO – A two-year-old and two adults were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Missouri 84 on Wednesday morning.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2009 Nissan Armada, driven by 24-year-old Marquis Wiggins, was traveling eastbound on Missouri 84 when it struck the rear of a 2014 Kia Optima, driven by 36-year-old Alex Patterson. The impact caused the Armada to travel into oncoming traffic and collide with a commercial truck, driven by 26-year-old Jeffrey Burns.

A two-year old occupant of the Optima and Patterson were transported to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. Wiggins sustained serious injuries and was transported to West Tennessee Health Care.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
