Posted on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021

SULLIVAN, MO – A teenager was injured when the 18-wheeler in which they were a passenger crashed into a tree near Meramec State Park, the Sullivan Independent News reports.

The incident happened at about 2:35 p.m. on Friday, near the intersection of Highway 185 and State Highway K. 38-year-old Wayne C. Williams lost control of his 2020 Freightliner semi truck, which ran off the right side of the roadway. Williams overcorrected, causing the truck to cross the center line, leave the highway on its left shoulder, and crash into a tree.

The teen passenger was taken to Missouri Baptist Hospital-Sullivan with minor injuries.

The truck was totaled.
