Teenage girl injured in single-car crash on MO-185 near Potosi

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MO — A 17-year-old girl was hospitalized Friday evening after losing control of her vehicle on Missouri Route 185 southbound near Potosi, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Trooper B. M. Breedlove responded to the incident in a stretch of MO-185 north of Fourche Renault Road at around 5:32 p.m.

The girl was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu southbound on the highway when her vehicle traveled off the right road edge, returned to the roadway, and then ran off the left road edge. The Malibu then returned to the roadway an ran off the right road edge another time. The vehicle then came to a rest off the south road edge facing southeast.

The juvenile driver was transported by ambulance to Washington County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The MSHP crash report indicates she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Chevrolet Malibu sustained extensive damages and was towed from the scene.

No other information has been reported on the cause of the crash.
