Teen hospitalized after crashing into tree in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO — A 17-year-old boy was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle collision in De Soto, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Trooper M. D. Benson responded to the accident near 3902 Flucom Road at around 3:35 p.m.

The juvenile driver as at the wheel of a 2006 Pontiac G6 going westbound on Flucom Road when he overlooked a curve in the road, causing the vehicle to run off the left side of the roadway and strike a tree.

The teenager was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis with serious injuries. His condition has not been disclosed.

The Pontiac G6 was totaled in the accident and towed from the scene.
