Teen and adult hurt in Jefferson County head-on collision

WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, MO (JEFFERSON COUNTY) – Two people were injured after a teenage driver struck another vehicle head-on Monday morning in Jefferson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened just before 10 a.m. on Old Lemay Ferry Road, near Spring Forest Drive.

A 16-year-old driver of a 2014 Toyota Camry crossed over the center line and into the left lane while making a turn, then collided with the front-left side of a 2017 Kia Soul.

The teenage boy from Imperial suffered minor injuries in the collision and was taken to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.

The driver of the Kia, 53-year-old Ballwin resident Carla R. Knopf, was also taken to Mercy Hospital South due to minor injuries received in the accident.

Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt when the crash, which totaled both vehicles, occurred.
