Steele driver falls asleep behind the wheel, crashes on I-55

PERRY COUNTY, MO – A 43-year-old Steele driver fell asleep behind the wheel of 2004 Mazda Tribute and crashed on northbound I-55 on Sunday morning.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Jeremy A. Webb was traveling north on I-55 when he fell asleep and drove off the left side of the road. He woke up and over-corrected causing the Mazda to roll over. The accident happened at mile marker 128.5 around 5:50 a.m.

Webb was transported to Perry County Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.

The Mazda was totaled.
