St. Louis man injured in motorcycle accident in St. Joe State Park

FARMINGTON, MO – A man from St. Louis was hurt after being ejected during a motorcycle accident this afternoon in St. Francois County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred on St. Joe State Park Trail 150 at 12 p.m., when 52-year-old St. Louis man John D. Westermayer, operating a 2018 KTM 300 XC motorcycle, collided with an embankment.

The bike overturned, causing Westermayer to be ejected from the vehicle.

Westermayer, who was wearing a helmet at the time, was airlifted to the hospital in St. Louis for the treatment of moderate injuries.

No other people were reported as hurt.

The motorcycle sustained moderate damage in the crash.
