St. Louis man injured following multi-vehicle crash on I-270

ST. LOUIS, MO – A man from St. Louis was hospitalized following an early morning crash on I-270 Monday.

According to the official crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred in the westbound lanes of I-270 near Halls Ferry Road just before 2:00 a.m.

Troopers at the scene believe 24-year-old Deontae Shepard failed to notice a stalled vehicle in the center lane of the freeway and rear-ended the vehicle. The impact of the initial crash forced Shepard’s 2019 Ford Fusion into a concrete barrier.

Shepard was transported to Christian Northeast Hospital to be treated for minor injuries sustained in the crash.
