ST. CHARLES, MO – A 24-year-old St. Louis driver was injured in a semi crash on eastbound I-70 on Sunday morning.
Garland S. Young was traveling east on I-70 in a 2006 Hyundai Sonata when he lost control of the vehicle, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol. The Hyundai traveled off the north side of the interstate and hit a concrete barrier. Police report the impact caused the Hyundai to travel back onto the road and hit a semi, driven by 26-year-old Dinesh Sharma. The accident happened east of Fifth Street around 9:50 a.m.
Young was transported to SSM Health DePaul Hospital for minor injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
The Hyundai was totaled and the semi sustained minor damages.
