Children’s Toy Poses Risk
Monday, February 10, 2020 – Juratoys US Corp. has issued a voluntary recall on several batches of its Sophie la Giraffe Bead Mazes due to a potential choking hazard. The toy’s triangle-shaped piece has been found to fall short of mandatory U.S. standards for small parts.
The recall, issued Feb. 6, 2020, affects approximately 980 units sold in specialty stores for about $25 between February 2019 and November 2019.
Sophie la Giraffe Bead Maze is a round, wooden toy that includes a gray Eiffel Tower figure, a wooden giraffe figure, and three wooden beads: an orange triangle, a green star, and a red heart.
The recall includes the following batch numbers, which can be found on the underside of the packaging, above the barcode:
- 9321/J09504/022019
- 9474/J09504/042019
- 9549/J09504/052019
