Semi loses tires on I-70 causing Jeep Wrangler to crash

WRIGHT CITY, MO – A semi lost its tires on I-70 and caused a 2018 Jeep Wrangler to crash on Tuesday night.

Alex Oshkov, 44, was traveling west on I-70 when the right front axle tires came off his semi, police report. The tires crossed the interstate median and traveled into the path of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler traveling west on I-70. Police report the Jeep struck the tires, traveled into the median, overturned, and hit the median cable barrier. According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at mile marker 199 around 10:45 p.m.

The driver of the Jeep, 32-year-old Nicole D. Balling, was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis for minor injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The Jeep was totaled and the semi sustained minor damages.
