Runner hit by vehicle near gas station

ST. LOUIS, MO – A runner was hit by a vehicle while running from a gas station on Local Hillsboro Road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Monday at 8:37 p.m. Joseph Bates,30, was running from a Motomart when he was struck by the front of a 2007 Saturn Aura as it made a right turn from Local Hillsboro Rd.

Bates was sent to Mercy South in serious condition.

The driver of the Saturn is not included in the report.
