A motorist was taken to the hospital following an accident in Potosi Friday afternoon.
State authorities responded to Highway 185 after receiving reports of a crash just south of Route AA. A 2001 Chevy S10 with several occupants, and driven by 46-year-old Alice L. Hunt of Potosi, was stuck in traffic when it was rear-ended by a 2013 Buick Lacrosse driven by 80-year-old Graydon L. Mills, also of Potosi. 50-year-old Bobby M. Tatum was a passenger in the second vehicle and was transported to Washington County Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. The incident is currently under investigation.
Rear-end collisions can result in insidious or long-term effects such as whiplash injuries, typically requiring constant treatment and monitoring. Needless to say, motorists injured in similar situations should be assisted so that they can quickly recover and find closure.
