Police release names of person killed, four injured in Pagedale crash

PAGEDALE MO – Police released the names of the person who was killed and the four people that were injured in Wednesday’s crash.

This is an update to a previous post discussing the charges the driver might face.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Nickolas R. Mackey, 27, was speeding on westbound Page Avenue in a 2016 Dodge Challenger. He crossed over the median and traveled into oncoming traffic. Onica D. Crawford, 39, was traveling eastbound on Page Avenue in a 2016 Ford Fusion and attempted to swerve to miss the Dodge. The front left of the Dodge hit the left side of the Ford.

Mackey, of St. Louis. continued traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Page Avenue and hit a 2009 Hyundai Sonata, driven by 50-year-old Mary R. Polittle. Polittle, of St. Louis, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the crash scene at 9:34 a.m.

Two passengers in the Hyundai, 21-year-old Arushus Coleman and 22-year-old Darrell Love, and Mackey sustained serious injuries. Crawford, of St. Louis, sustained minor injuries.

All injured parties were transported to Barnes Jewish Hospital.

None of the drivers or the two injured passengers were wearing seat belts.

Police report the fatal accident happened at Buckner Place around 9:22 a.m.
