Police officer hit and dragged by vehicle during traffic stop

HILLSDALE, MO – A Hillsdale police officer was hit and dragged by a vehicle following a traffic stop on Thursday night, reports KTVI.

According to the Hillsdale Police Department, the officer was performing a traffic stop and standing beside the car when the driver attacked him. The motorist hit the officer with their car door then dragged him with the vehicle.

The officer was hospitalized with injuries to the head and face.

The attack occurred near the intersection of Edmund Avenue and St. Louis Avenue around 9:30 p.m.

Police continue to search for the driver responsible for the officer’s injuries.
