ST. LOUIS, MO – A pedestrian died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Martin Luther King Drive early this morning, according to information from KMOV4.

The collision occurred near the intersection of MLK Dr and Deer Street at around 1 a.m., as a male pedestrian was walking on a sidewalk. A driver headed eastbound then went into the westbound lanes and onto the sidewalk, where she crashed into two buildings and the victim before crashing into a third building. The driver then attempted to flee the scene on foot.

The impact sent the pedestrian over the top of the vehicle and onto the concrete nearby. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities located the driver, identified as a 35-year-old woman, a few blocks from the crash site and took her into police custody.
