One person sustains serious injuries in van vs. bus crash

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL – One person was injured after a van rear-ended a bus on Old Bunkum Road on Friday morning.

According to St. Louis Post Dispatch, a Morrison Plumbing Company van and school bus were both traveling west on Old Bunkum Road. The van rear-ended the bus in the 9100 block of Old Bunkum Road around 7 a.m.

There were three children on the bus. None of the children were injured.

Firefighters had to extricate the driver of the van. The driver was transported to a St. Louis hospital for serious injuries.

It is unclear if the bus driver sustained injuries in the crash.

The cause of the crash is unknown.
