One hospitalized following multi-vehicle rear-end collision on I-64

ST. LOUIS, MO – A man from Troy was hospitalized after a rear-end collision caused a chain reaction involving four vehicles Friday evening.

According to the official crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred in the westbound lanes of I-64 just east of Missouri Route 364 shortly before 6:00 p.m.

Troopers believe the accident happened when the driver of a 2005 Toyota Corolla was following too closely behind another vehicle. The vehicle in front slowed for traffic causing the Toyota to strike the rear-end causing a chain reaction in which 2 other cars were damaged.

The driver of one of the vehicles involved, 41-year-old Christopher Chrysla, was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
