Posted on Monday, September 13th, 2021

WASHINGTON, MO – A man was killed early this afternoon when his motorcycle was struck from behind on MO-47 south of Washington, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Eddie Jacobs, 62, was stopped in traffic north of Woodland Drive when he was hit from behind by a 2012 Nissan Altima whose driver was not paying attention to the road. Jacobs’ Harley-Davidson was subsequently crushed between the Nissan and a 2019 Jeep Cherokee stopped in front of him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mark Krill, the Nissan’s 31-year-old driver, was taken to Mercy Hospital with minor injuries, while the woman driving the Nissan was transported to the same facility with moderate injuries.

It is unclear whether Krill will face criminal charges for his role in the crash.
