Motorcyclist dead after crashing into MoDOT truck

ST. LOUIS, MO – A man is dead after he crashed his motorcycle in an accident in Old North St. Louis last night, reports KTVI.

The accident happened before 9 p.m. at the intersection of I-70 and St. Louis Avenue, when the victim, 55-year-old Jimmie Watkins, collided with a Missouri Department of Transportation truck, which was removing a mattress blocking the highway.

Watkins died at the hospital of injuries he sustained during the accident.

The incident is under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
