Motorcyclist dead after crashing into back of minivan in St. Charles Co.

ORCHARD FARM, MO (ST. CHARLES COUNTY) – A 30-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an inattentive-driving collision in St. Charles County last night, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on Route V, north of Blase Station Road, at 9:25 p.m., as 30-year-old St. Charles man Brian A. Scott was operating a Honda XTR motorcycle. He failed to notice traffic in front of a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan ahead of him and collided with the rear of the minivan.

Scott, who was reportedly not wearing his helmet at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:35 p.m.

The driver of the minivan, 65-year-old St. Louis man Michael T. Hamilton, was not injured in the crash.
