PERRYVILLE, MO (PERRY COUNTY) – A truck driver from Mississippi was injured when he was rear-ended by another driver on I-55 last night, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred in Perryville, near the 127 mile marker of southbound I-55, at 10:35 p.m., when 50-year-old truck driver Dexter C. Marshall, of Tylertown, Mississippi, slowed down in order to go around a traffic incident on the highway.
Marshall, operating a 2021 Freightliner Conventional, was struck from behind by a 2006 Ford 500 driven by 24-year-old Cape Girardeau man Nazareth C. Stotts.
Marshall was taken to the Perry County Memorial Hospital for the treatment of minor injuries. Stotts was not reported as hurt.
Both men were wearing their seatbelts when the collision happened.
The Ford was totaled in the crash.
