Mineral Point man severely injured after being ejected in Franklin Co. crash

CALVEY TOWNSHIP, MO (FRANKLIN COUNTY) – A man from Mineral Point was seriously injured after colliding with a tree on Route HH in Franklin County this afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened in Calvey Township on Route HH, near Conley Drive, at 2:05 p.m., as David A. Hografe, a 58-year-old Mineral Point resident, was reportedly not paying attention while driving.

Hografe’s 2000 Chevrolet Malibu went off the right side of the highway. He overcorrected the vehicle, sending it across the roadway and off the left side, where it collided with a tree.

Hografe was ejected from the vehicle, and the driverless car slid into a fence post.

He was taken to the hospital in St. Louis with severe injuries.

Hografe was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
