A head-on crash was reported in Marthasville late Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred on Highway T south of Rayginsons Lane. At around 4:05 p.m., a Chevy Malibu driven by 26-year-old Brett N. Varady of Wentzville was traveling north when it veered onto the opposite lane, crashing head-on into a southbound Chevy pickup truck with two occupants, including driver Jacob R. Hassler. Varady was killed in the collision, while Hassler and his 13-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized. According to authorities, all involved parties were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. The incident is under investigation.
