Man seriously injured in Franklin County motorcycle accident

LABADIE, MO (FRANKLIN COUNTY) – A man was seriously injured following a motorcycle accident in Franklin County on Independence Day, according to a crash report published by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at 12:46 p.m. on Highway T, east of Fiddle Creek Road when Pacific man Douglas D. Tompkins, 57, drove a 2004 Harley-Davidson Roadking off the side of the road. The motorcycle traveled into the ditch and ejected Tompkins, from the vehicle.

Tompkins was taken to the hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. According to the report, he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
