Man seriously injured in single-vehicle crash on I-170

ST. LOUIS, MO – A man was seriously injured when his car ran off the side of I-170 and crashed into a sign Saturday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on southbound I-170, just south of St. Charles Rock Road, when a 20-year-old driver lost control of his Saturn Astra and left the roadway. The vehicle hit an embankment, briefly went airborne, and crashed into a sign.

The driver was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, where he was listed in serious condition.
