Man seriously hurt after crashing into cable box and culvert in Fenton

FENTON, MO – A man was severely injured after he crashed into a cable box and a culvert in Fenton this afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on Romaine Creek Road and Moncrief Drive at 3:45 p.m., when 51-year-old Arnold resident Albert F. Planells, operating a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport, failed to navigate a curve in the roadway.

Planells overcorrected the vehicle, causing it to veer off the right side of the roadway and into a cable box and a concrete culvert. The impact then caused the vehicle to overturn.

Planells, who was reportedly not wearing his seatbelt at the time, sustained severe injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

No other people were hurt in the crash.
