Man dies one month after traffic accident

ST.LOUIS, MO – The Belleville News-Democrat reports that Anthony Drakes, a 61-year-old man from O’Fallon, has passed away, one month after being involved in a fiery traffic collision. 

The occurred on April 12 at around 1:30 a.m. Drakes ran through a flashing red light at the intersection of Delor Street and South Grand Boulevard.

According to police, Drakes, who was driving a 2003 Ford Windstar, collided with a 2011 Ford Edge as it was pulling into traffic. 

Drakes’s minivan caught fire, as reported by KMOV 4. A female passenger fled the scene on foot. 

A passenger in the SUV was hospitalized, and two others were uninjured.
