Man injured in two-car crash on I-55 SB in southwest St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO — A 56-year-old Fenton man was injured Tuesday evening in a collision involving a jeep and a van on Interstate 55 southbound in southwest St. Louis, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Trooper N. W. Stevens responded to the accident in the southbound lanes of I-55 south of Meramec Bottom Road near Arnold at 7:27 p.m.

The Fenton man was heading southbound in a 1989 Chevrolet van when his vehicle veered into the path of a southbound 2018 Jeep Cherokee, causing the Cherokee to rear-end his van.

Crews with Mehville Fire Protection District transported the Fenton man to Mercy Hospital South with minor injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident and were towed from the scene.
