Man injured in multi-car rear-end collision in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO — A 70-year-old Fenton man was injured Saturday afternoon in a rear-end crash involving three vehicles in Imperial, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred on Lions Den Road off Old Lemay Ferry Road at around 12;15 p.m.

The Fenton man was at the wheel of a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee going eastbound on Lions Den Road when he abruptly stopped to avoid an animal in the roadway. A 2016 Kia Soul traveling behind then abruptly stopped to avoid hitting the Grand Cherokee. A 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier traveling behind the Kia Soul was unable to stop in time and rear-ended Kia Soul, which then caused the Kia Soul to rear-end the Grand Cherokee.

The Fenton man was transported by ambulance to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital with minor injuries.

All vehicles sustained minor damages and were all driven from the scene.
