Man injured in Highway 30 accident

MURPHY, MO – Two cars collided and injured one, on Tuesday morning, when a car failed to stop behind a turning driver.

Johnny Marcrum, 46, was driving his 2002  GMC 3500 on westbound Highway 30. According to the Missouri State Traffic Patrol, at approximately 9:25 a.m., Marcrum slowed his vehicle to turn onto Northwest Boulevard and a 2007 Kia Sorento crashed into the back of Marcrum’s car. The Kia’s driver, 33-year-old Timothy Sutton, reported that he was unable to come to a stop behind the slowed vehicle.

Police officers report that both vehicles sustained extensive damage in the collision. They believe that Marcrum’s car was totaled during the accident.

Marcrum sustained moderate injuries during the accident. An ambulance transported Marcrum to Mercy Hospital South for treatment of his injuries.

Officers on the scene reported that Sutton was not injured in the crash.
