Man hospitalized after crash with telephone pole in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO — A 41-year-old man was injured Wednesday afternoon after losing control of his car and crashing into a telephone pole near De Soto, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred on Mount Olive Road south of McMullin School Road and was reported by Trooper T. W. Brewer at 12:05 p.m.

The man was at the wheel of a 1986 Ford Mustang going northbound on the road when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to travel off the left side of the roadway and hit a telephone pole.

The driver was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South with moderate injuries.

His vehicle was totaled in the accident and towed from the scene.

No further information has been reported on what led up to the crash.
